New Collection of Books by Hispanic and Latino Authors Available in the Library

The Rebecca Crown Library recently received a grant from the Illinois State Library (LSTA Grant funds) to purchase books in English and Spanish by Latino and Hispanic authors. The books range from the classics by Pablo Neruda and Jorge Luis Borges to edgy urban novels by new authors such as Junot Díaz.

Be sure to look for the books written by Ana Castillo, who will be on campus for a book reading and discussion on October 10.  There are approximately 235 titles in this collection and they are available for checkout.  The books are currently on display on the main floor of the library near Room 111.  ¡Todos a leer!

The book display is accompanied by musical instruments, texts and other items from Latin America.  We are adding objects to the display case as Hispanic Heritage Month goes on.  Below is 1 item, from Library Special Collections, currently on display.
