As you start to get into your research projects and need articles from other libraries, you may notice that the InterLibrary Loan website has changed. The Rebecca Crown Library has switched over to a new Interlibrary Loan service. You can still request books, articles, movies and other materials from other libraries. All that has changed is the landing page.
You begin your InterLibrary Loan request as you would normally: through the InterLibrary Loan link on the Rebecca Crown Library homepage or through the “Request This Item” button in library databases when looking at an article that Rebecca Crown Library does not own.
The InterLibrary Loan link on the Rebecca Crown Library homepage is on the right-hand side of the page.
From the Rebecca Crown Library homepage, you log into your InterLibrary Loan account with your Dominican username and password. Once you have logged-in, you will land on your homepage, where you can open a new request form and manage your previous requests.
You can also link to your InterLibrary Loan account as you search one of our many databases. If you come across an article that Rebecca Crown Library does not own, you will see a “Find full text in other databases” link on the item page.
That link will take you either to another database where you can get the full article or to a page with a “Request this Item” link.
Once you have entered your username and password, the “Request this Item” link will take you to a fully populated request form in your InterLibrary Loan account. Verify that all of the information is correct in the form, and hit submit. You will get an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with a link back to your Interlibrary Loan account when the article is available.
