Happy National Pi Day!

March 14th is every mathematicians favorite celebration, for this day commemorates the mathematical constant  π (pi)! The reasoning for the celebration on this day is in accordance to the first three numbers of the never ending constant π, which happen to be 3.14.  Pi day is typically celebrated in ways such as eating pie, selling pies, throwing pies and presentations on the significance of the number π. So, get your pie on!

Fun Fact #1: March 14th is also Albert Einstein’s birthday! (However, Pi day was long celebrated before he was born, yet the date of its origin is undetermined.)

Fun Fact #2: Next year, in 2015 there is special significance on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53:59 because at this exact moment the first 12 digits of pi will be represented. (3.14159265359)
