October 5 – World Teachers’ Day

Since 1994, World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated annually worldwide as an initiative by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The UNESCO began this celebration to gather greater awareness and show appreciation to the educational system, in addition to providing a way to acknowledge and thank the educators that are guiding the future generations. The purpose of this day is to activate further support for teachers and acknowledgement for the great influence they hold on the children of our future government officials, police officers, scientist, and parents! To this day there are at minimum 100 different countries partaking in the celebration of World Teachers’ Day! Without teachers of the world, where would we be today? Think how different your life could have been or turned out if it was not for those educators who guided you during your education journey.
