Ask a Librarian via IM and Meebo

Instant Messsaging

Get “instant” help from anywhere there’s a computer and Internet access–that means even on the third floor of the library so you don’t have to walk down the spiral staircase to the lower level or from your home off campus! The Crown Library now offers chat reference (or instant messaging) through Meebo, a web-based IM program.

You can chat with a librarian through AIM, MSN, Yahoo! or Google. Our screen name is domreference. Add domreference to your buddy list. If you don’t have an account with one of these clients, just use the Meebo chat box available on the Crown Library’s blog (see, there it is in the lower right of the sidebar) or from the Ask a Librarian section of the Library’s myDU page.

Chat reference is available everyday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to Dominican University students, faculty, staff, and alumni only. And of course, we are still happy to answer your questions in person, by phone (708-524-6875), or by email (reference@dom.edu).
