Stories of Africa – Featuring Chris Abani

Nigerian writer Chris Abani will speak in the Bluhm Lecture Hall (Parmer 108) this Wednesday, December 2, 2009.

Chris Abani is part of a new generation of Nigerian writers working to convey to an English-speaking audience the experience of those born and raised in that troubled African nations. he published his first novel, a controversial political thriller, when he was 16. Abani’s best-selling novel Graceland is the funny and unsettling story of a young Nigerian Elvis impersonator.
